Every Seat Is A Story

Each "seat" represents an opportunity for people to come and experience Jesus through every facet of the ministry of Valorous Church. Each "seat" represents a piece of the puzzle. Each "seat" symbolizes a space where all kinds of people can come and experience the hope of Jesus. Each "seat" represents a story of someone who has been impacted by everything that goes into creating a space to gather as Valorous Church.

Living The Vision

In 2019, we began a giving campaign called Living the Vision, where over $2.8 million was raised through pledges and donations from a multitude of families and businesses connected to our church. Everything provided to date, through the generosity and partnership of our Valorous community of believers, in addition to a development loan, has positioned us to be able to make a move from our leased Main Street location to a permanent home across the waterway in 2023.

But, just as you can technically move into a new home without all of the appliances and furniture (the structure is complete but you wouldn’t yet invite folks over for dinner, so to speak) ... this next phase will determine at what capacity we are able to open our newly built doors to the public, and the degree we are able to create a welcoming, inviting environment for the church share the Gospel of Jesus and invite those who do not yet know him to experience the Kingdom of God.

Our Foundation

The first concrete was poured into our foundation on top of a Bible with a passage from Ephesians 2 highlighted as a beautiful symbolic reminder of what it’s all about—whether on Main Street, across the waterway, or across the world—and that’s Jesus.

“Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.” —Ephesians 2:20-21 NLT

The Goal: $2.5 Million

To put a figure on it, we are in need of $2.5 million dollars to be opening-Sunday-ready as we have envisioned, beyond the framework and basic infrastructure, to help create a warm, hospitable space where we can welcome our community and church family.

We have broken up this goal into 1,000 units, laid out over a map of our new auditorium seating. Every increment of $2,500 will fill in one empty seat as a visual representation of reaching our financial goal of raising $2,500,000 for opening at the new location.

Why A Seat?

The plan is to provide Valorous Partners and their families an opportunity to sponsor all or part of a “seat”. Each “seat” represents an opportunity for people to come and experience Jesus through every facet of the ministry of Valorous Church.

The details matter. Everything from assisting someone with parking; To providing a warm welcome; To producing a creative, dynamic, Spirit lead service flow; To the effective, efficient maintenance systems and processes to prioritize visitor follow-up and engagement. Engagement that leads to the deepening of their relationship with Jesus.

A seat represents Opportunity—the opportunity to invite, serve, and love. (John 10:10, Luke 19:10)
A seat represents Possibility—the possibility of being seen, known, and loved. (Isaiah 43:1)
A seat represents Hope—the hope of healing, restoration, and renewal. (Hebrews 6:19, Matt 11:28-30)
A seat represents Freedom—the freedom to come and discover all God has called us to be. (Galatians 5:1)

Each “seat” represents a piece of the puzzle. Each filled marker is a step towards our financial goal, but each seat also symbolizes a space where all kinds of people can come and experience the hope of Jesus through every facet of Valorous Church. It represents a story of someone who has been impacted by everything that goes into creating a space to gather as Valorous Church.

It’s good to hear fresh stories of people whose life has been changed through the ministry of Valorous Church. We will be sharing a lot more of them over this time of prayer, preparation, and radical generosity. We invite you to share your story, to pray over this audacious goal, and to seek wisdom and guidance for how you and your household might participate in setting a scene where many more lives can be changed by the power of God moving in and through this Church.
